The Enchanted Theatre Company's mission is to provide everyone with a venue to develop creativity, self worth and self confidence through artistic expression. Engage. Encourage. Enchant.
We wish to engage the community around us with cultural events such as theatrical and musical performances, interactive theatre, as well as provide them a unique space to work and play.
We wish to encourage self confidence, team building, and growth of the imagination through our educational classes which will encompass all aspects of theatre, for all ages.
We wish to enchant the hearts and minds of those who step through the front door, leaving the ordinary and entering the extraordinary. By offering what we call "The Imagitorium" - a world filled with magic and mystery, we hope to submerse participants in interactive adventures led by pirates, fairies and much more.
"Perhaps the arts do something more than just entertain us? I find that being able to express creativity through theatre, and other forms of art, therapeutic as well as deeply moving. The arts bring us together and cause us to reflect on life in a way which we may have not before. For fifteen years I was a singer, song writer and inspirational speaker, and it was through these forms of art I was able to connect with people, those who had incredible stories to share.
In 2007 my life changed when a bolt of lightning hit me via the washing machine. I must say I was quite shocked, and major life changes followed, but not my love for theatre and creatively expressing myself. The Story Teller Extraordinaire came to life after the electrifying incident, as well as my pursuit of writing, directing, acting and set designing in local theatrical productions.
The Enchanted Theatre company is a place I am excited to continue my pursuits as well as share in a community of others who have the same passions."
"I can never remember a time when I did not love to perform. As a child I was always day dreaming and pretending to be characters, fantastical or just ordinary, while in different environments, in different situations. As I grew up I realized that I could deepen my love of day dreaming and bring it to life for an audience. From community theatre in Woodstock and surrounding area to Hamilton I have taken the stage, and remember each character vividly. However it was not until I began working on my Bachelor of Arts – Theatre Performance- at Redeemer University College, that I began to fall in love and explore other aspects of theatre. Directing, producing, working front of house, and stage management are just some of the tools I have now in my belt. In the summer of 2011, I had the privilege to do a co-op with the Fringe Festival in Hamilton. There I realized that I love to help in providing a creative space for artists to develop their skills and talents, and then to showcase them. Enchanted Theatre Company will hopefully be such a place for you; a place to grow and challenge yourself, a place to enjoy the arts, and a place where your imagination will soar."
"Before I even knew I wanted to pursue a career in theatre, I was doing theatre. Whether it was directing Christmas plays at school, or acting out skits with my sisters, I loved using my imagination and seeing where it could take me. This excitement and passion for creativity led me to pursue theatre at a university level. I graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. During my time at school, I was able to explore and expand upon my skills, taking courses on acting, directing, scriptwriting, makeup, and much more. I also had the privilege to study at both the Stratford Festival and Shaw Festival. Within those years I acted in productions including Orpheus Descending and Shatter, and directed Still Stands the House. The height of my experience in theatre occurred when I directed and designed an independent production of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Directing Hamlet gave me new insight into what I now value as the most amazing thing about theatre; there is nothing more exciting than working with people and seeing how they grow. This is my goal at the Enchanted Theatre Company, and I cannot wait."
